Todays post is all about the absence of colour. This image represents how beautiful designs can be produced without relying on colour to make them striking. At University I had to do a whole collection of woven textiles, with back up design work, based in the theme ‘White on white’. At first it was very difficult trying to portray striking elements of the pattern and geometric designs without using colour however once I got into the flow of the project it was a great learning curve. I experimented with bead work, different yarns etc and was still able to use many different patterns to create both subtle and dynamic fabrics.
Challenge yourself with this theme and see what results you can achieve!
If if you would like to see any images of the development of these fabrics let me know!
