The only word to describe the Hermitage in St. Petersburg: WOW.

It was defiantly one of the most incredible buildings I have ever been in and must be on every designers ‘visit list’. When I went there I was expecting to be blown away by the fabulous paintings it houses (they were brilliant!) but I was not expecting the interiors to be as amazing as they were. Every room is different, with beautifully detailed wallpapers and floor tiles and exquisite ceilings full of intricate patterns.

The photograph featured is just one of my favourite rooms. I love calm atmosphere that has been created through the carefully considered colour palette and pattern use, complementing the sculptures so well. It is so beautiful!

I hope you find this interior as inspiring as I do!
